Preliminary Task Brief

Using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in a medium close-up plus some appropriately laid out text and a masthead.  Additionally, candidates must produce a DTP mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program.

The contents of your work should include:

1. Brief
2. Action Plan
3. Annotated school/college magazines (include contents page)
4. A mindmap/ideas page outlining your initial ideas and target audience profile
5. Initial mock up cover and contents page (including annotations of relevant forms and conventions used)
6. Photographs 
7. Annotated main image and 3 other original images (explain choices, mise en scene, lighting etc)
8. Feedback from your target audience
9. Changed mock up in response to the feedback you've received
10. Final cover
11. Final contents page
12. Evaluation
